Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This policy explains what information [Company legal name] ("Bill9", "we", "us") collects through this website and the Bill9 billing software, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run Bill9 and to reply to you.
- Website forms: when you request a demo or contact us, your name, mobile number, email address, business type, subject and message.
- Your account: the owner’s and staff members’ names, logins and contact details.
- Your shop’s data: shop name, address, GSTIN, products, prices, stock, customers, suppliers, bills, payments and reports that you enter into Bill9.
- Technical data: basic information your browser sends, such as device type and pages visited, used to keep the service working and secure.
2. How we use your information
- To set up your account, run your 14-day free trial and provide the service.
- To reply to demo requests and questions, by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- To provide support, fix problems and improve Bill9.
- To send important notices about your account, such as plan or billing updates.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your shop’s data to advertise to your customers.
3. Your shop’s data belongs to you
The products, customers, bills and reports you enter are your business records. We process them only to provide Bill9 to you. You can download your sales, purchase and GST reports in Excel or PDF at any time while your account is active.
5. Storage and security
Your data is kept in secure cloud storage, and Bill9 uses password-protected logins with separate access for owners and cashiers. Editing a bill needs the owner’s password, and changes are logged. No system is completely secure, so please keep your passwords private.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and shop data while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise it within [number] days, except where we must keep records for legal or tax reasons. Website enquiries are kept for up to [number] months.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you.
- Correct or update it.
- Delete it, where we are not required to keep it.
- Withdraw your consent, where we rely on consent.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If the changes are significant, we will tell account owners by email or in the app.
10. Contact and grievance officer
